Key Verses:  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

“God is love!” It is probably one of the first verses you ever learned from the Bible. You’ve heard that God loves you a thousand times, but I wonder if you truly believe it? Don’t rush over this statement. Sometimes we because so familiar with these words, that they become a concept to us, instead of applying on a personal level. We understand that God loves us from an intellectual standpoint but not deep inside our hearts.

There are millions of people in the world today who feel unloved. Some feel unloved by their parents, spouse, partner or family. Others feel unworthy of love. Whatever the cause, feeling unloved can be more than heartbreaking, it can be soul-damaging.

We need to read, meditate and believe what the Bible teaches us. In Christ, God loves us far more than we realize. God loved us so much that He gave the very best that He had to save us. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God giving His Son required more than only allowing Him to leave Heaven’s glory and enter a sinful world. It meant allowing Jesus to suffer and die in our place and pay the terrible debt for our sins.

The Bible says in 1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” Lavished means ‘to bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities.’ There in nothing sparing in the way God loves us. He lavishes us with an infinite, unconditional, ever-present and eternal love so that we should be called children of God. Just as the Father loved his one and only Son, Jesus, He now loves us because, in Christ, we also are his children. Jesus prayed as such in John 17:23 “I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy; you are loved far more than you realize, and God promises that He loves you so much, he will allow nothing to separate you from His love.
