For many today is the first day back to work after the Easter break. We have had a glorious time remembering all that Christ has done for us on the cross, His love poured out for us. Easter day we remembered He lives! He is Risen indeed!!
Easter is a glorious time for the believer, yet as we get back to normality, if we’re honest, we’ll admit that the Christian life feels hard. Life hurts, following Christ feels difficult, and we feel defeated. Day after day we face the bombardment of the enemy and fail to recognize that, on our own, we have no chance of experiencing victory, no hope of transformation.
But great power awaits us. We need to remember that what Christ has done for us, didn’t end at the moment of our salvation. In Romans 8:11, Paul essentially said, “Are you curious how much power God has made available to change you? Go to Easter morning! The same power that lifted Jesus Christ from the grave—the greatest victory of all time—is the same power that lives in you.” (The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.)
As we remember all that happened at Easter, let us also remember God is still working powerfully through us His people.
