Most Christians accept that they have been saved by grace through faith but many struggle with the simple revelation that they have also been made righteous by faith. Yet as we study scripture, we discover that is what the Bible teaches.
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 3:22
Before you saved, what made you a sinner? Was it because you were a drunkard? Or an addict? Is it because you didn’t keep the law? The truth is, we are not made a sinner because we sinned – we sin because we were born with a sinful nature inside of us. That is why; even people that have led a very moral life but are not born again stand outside of God’s kingdom. When Adam sinned, the sin nature entered the human race and consequently we were all born under its bondage. But in the same way, through Jesus, we have now been made righteous!
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:18-19
So through Adam, sin entered the world and now through Christ, righteousness has come to all who accept Him. It is that simple!
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Cor. 5:22
Jesus paid the price for our sins. and now we are made righteous!
What did you do to deserve God’s love? (The answer is nothing!)
What does it mean for you to be made right with God?
Father, Thank You for all you have done in my life. Thank You that through Jesus we have be made right in our relationship with you. Thank you for the transformation that you are making in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
