Today’s Reading: Revelation 13:14

Key Verse: “… he deceived all the people who belong to this world.” Revelation 13:14

Jesus tells us “don’t be fooled”. It’s easy as a child of God to get caught up in this world’s hype. As we read the newspapers and listen to the TV, we begin to believe in almost anything. Don’t be deceived by anyone who claims to have all the right answers.

The world and Satan are trying their best to deceive us, even now. We as believers must fix our eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2 says “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”

What is important for us is to beware of trusting in any man to solve any of your problems. Too often, the world’s magnetic pull means we become consumed by its standards rather than by God’s perfect standards. The truth is, we can’t focus on two things at the same time.  It’s impossible.   You can’t drive to two places at once. Matthew 6:24″No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Don’t let the world and Satan deceive you. Look instead to and Fix your eyes on Jesus.
