Today’s reading begins with a clear and refreshing statement of Christ’s will for our lives. “For freedom, Christ has set us free.”
The prescription of the Law leaves us sick, But the prescription of Faith leads to salvation.
Compromise often calls for a sacrifice of truth and we need wisdom to discern when this is happening. We are never to give up on truth. This is exactly what is happening as Paul writes in Galatians 2.
At new birth, we receive new clothes. We were all dressed in the filthy rags of sin, stained by our wrong actions but Jesus provides the robe of righteousness for us.
God wants us to use our mind, directed by Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit, and to live our lives for His glory. This is Christian understanding.
