You can make a difference to someone’s life
Today’s Reading: Jude
Key Verses: “And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment.” Jude 1:22-23a
There was a little boy lived near the sea, and every day he would go to the shore to pick up starfish and put them back in the ocean. One day a storm washed up thousands of starfish and scattered them all over the beach.
The little boy, as usual, went out and began picking them up one at a time and putting them back into the sea. A man who was watching him, finally the man said to the boy, “why are you picking up the starfish? There are so many of them you can’t possibly make a difference”. The little boy picked up one more starfish, looked at the man and said, “to this one, I can make a difference,” then he picked up another one and said, “to this one I can make a difference.”
That is what Jude tells us: Make a difference!
Unbelievers, no matter how successful they seem by worldly standards, are lost and in need of salvation. We should not take witnessing lightly—it is a matter of life and death. Those without Christ are lost in the sin and heading towards eternal punishment, but God in his mercy has sent a saviour. The Bible says in Romans 10:13-14, “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”
So often we see the task of reaching the world as something so big, we forget that it starts with an individual. Reaching the world begin with making a difference in the life of the person sitting next to you at work or on the bus. Reaching the world begins with your family and friends.
You’re in the right please to put God purpose, principles, power, and plan into service. Stop making excuses! Now is the time to make a difference to someone’s life
