Picture the seen with me, over the past few days we have seen Moses’s excuses. Moses is here, quarrelling with a burning bush, he has just had his rod turn into a snake, and back again. He had caught leprosy and got healed, all in the last few moments, and now he says ‘buuuttt I aamm slloooww iiinnn ssppeeaacchh’. I am not eloquent in speaking, I freeze up in front of crowds, even my friends don’t always understand me.’ In other words he was saying ‘I am not capable!’

That is the fourth excuse, we reason with God why we are not capable to do what he has called us to do ‘I am too fat, I am too skinny, I am too old, I am too young. I am not clever enough – I am too clever, I am not, I am not…. you use extraordinary people and I am not even just ordinary. And God says to him one question ‘who made you?, Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?’

I want to share with you this video. The video is a clip from a man of God names Nick Vujicic. Nick was born without any arms or legs, yet as he says is still called to ‘be the hand and feet of Jesus in this world’. His website can be found at www.lifewithoutlimbs.org

Nick has travelled around the world, sharing his story with millions of people, speaking to a range of different groups such as students, teachers, youth, businessmen and women, entrepreneurs, and church congregations of all sizes. He has also told his story and been interviewed on various televised programs worldwide. He says “If God can use a man without arms and legs to be His hands and feet, then He will certainly use any willing heart!”

Never tell God ‘I’m not capable.’ It is He who empowers us.
